This year Canberra Day will feature a new look, a new location and an exciting Canberra-centric program headlined by Australian electronic act SAFIA on Monday 9 March 2015.
The local community will take centre stage at this year’s Canberra Day celebrations, which have been relocated to Patrick White Lawns in front of the National Library of Australia.
The event will kick off at 2.00pm with family-friendly entertainment including Captain Barnacle and his team of Octonauts. Children will also have the opportunity to meet local sporting heroes.
Fresh from their collaboration with Peking Duck’s Take Me Over coming in at No. 5 in the Triple J Hottest 100, one of the country’s hottest electronic acts, Canberra band SAFIA, will headline the Canberra Day line-up.
Local house music producer DJ Magnifik featuring Chanel Cole, Kayo Marbilus and Cris Clucas will appear on the bill alongside fellow Canberra stars Slow Turismo, and street artists Houl and Goodie.
Canberra arts festival You Are Here will also get involved by hosting a number of activities while No Lights No Lycra Southside will stage RAVE CBR at a secret location to be revealed on the morning of the event.
The Forage food market, best known for its involvement in the Hustle and Scout markets, will cater for the event featuring an array of local traders.
