As we head into the warmer months of the year, it’s time to start thinking about where to cool off during your visit to Canberra after your adventures!
For our Abode Gungahlin visitors, Canberra International Sports and Aquatic Centre in Belconnen and the Australian Institute of Sport in Bruce are just minutes away and provide everything from kids play areas with a waterslide to lap pools for the more fitness enthused individuals!
For our Woden guests, Phillip Swimming and Ice Skating Centre is right around the corner and houses an eight-lane heated swimming pool and smaller pools for the kids. If you want cool off in a different way, feel free to go for a spin around the ice skating rink!
Abode Tuggeranong is close to the Lakeside Leisure Centre that received an upgrade in 2008 and now has a 50m lap pool, leisure pool with beach entry and a toddler’s pool for the smaller swimmers.
There are more pools where they came from around the Canberra area, some of which include:
Manuka Pool – Take a step back in time to the 1920s and visit Manuka Pool with décor reminiscent of an era gone by and relax in style.
Big Splash – Canberra’s very own water park is in Jamison! Take a turn down the different sized waterslides, hang out in the pools with the range of inflatables to hire and a play area dedicated for the younger kids.
Canberra Olympic Pool – Located in the heart of the city, this pool is home to Canberra’s only public access diving tower! Test your bravery, diving off the platforms that go up to five metres!
