The National Folk Festival is Australia’s premier folk festival event – celebrating the world of folk music and arts.
The festival was established in Victoria 1967 and traveled all around Australia for 25 years before settling down in Canberra in 1992.
For 5 days Exhibition Park in Canberra becomes another world for each and every festival-goer – a magical place, filled with colour and sound – where talents can be nurtured and artistic dreams realised.
Hundreds of the world’s best musicians perform daily, rubbing shoulders with festival-goers, in a friendly non-stop flow of entertainment across many fabulous venues – from large indoor all-weather auditoria, such as the Budawang and Coorong to intimate themed venues such as the Bohemian and the Scrumpy.
With an annual attendance of more than 50,000 people, the Folk Festival promotes a safe and lively environment where you can express yourself and have a good time with friends and family.
The National Folk Festival kicks off on the 2nd of April, finishing on the 6th.
