The Canberra Raiders flew high in what is said to be the largest hot air balloon ever operated in the capital.
The striking black and white Abode Hotels balloon, is as tall as an 8-storey building. It holds 9 tonnes of air, can lift 3.5 tonnes, holds 20 passengers and is the most massive hot air balloon ever operated in the ACT, NSW and Victoria by Balloon Aloft, says Managing Director Ewan Roberts of the company.
Jarrod Croker, Shaun Fensom and Paul Vaughn joined Coach Ricky Stuart, GEOCON and Abode Hotels to formally unveil the balloon.
‘Hot air balloons are fast becoming a visual symbol of Canberra with our balloon festivals and as a popular recreational activity,’ says Managing Director of GEOCON and Abode Hotels, Nick Georgalis. ‘The capital doesn’t have a lot of billboard advertising so we thought we’d go sky high another way.’
Abode Hotels offers exclusive packages for hotel guests to ride the balloon and see all that Canberra has to offer from up above here.
Prices start from $630 per night in a Premium Studio or $660 per night in an Executive Studio for 2 adults and includes flights for 2.
