The Canberra Writers Festival is launching in August 2016, promising to transform the capital into the ‘heart of literacy’ for lovers of books, reading and writing. The festival will showcase local, national, and international writers around a number of venues in Canberra.
The driving themes of the festival include Power, Politics, and Passion. Alongside an exciting line up of authors and artists, the festival is set to inspire and engage attendees from a number of backgrounds.
The festival will be held over three days, offering visitors the chance to engage in a number of activities including workshops, panel sessions, keynote addresses, and more intimate events such as literary launches and dinners.
The festival will take place across various venues around the capital, including the National Museum of Australia, Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, National Portrait Gallery, National Press Club, and Australian National University.
