After the much-anticipated opening of the Canberra Airport’s International Terminal; international travel has increased for inbound and outbound passengers. Earlier in November, Canberra Airport marked 100 international flights with Singapore Airlines since they began the service in September last year. Not only has there been a positive connection between Canberra, Singapore and Wellington, but the option for international travel from Canberra has created an easier route to the United Kingdom and beyond.
Currently, many Canberra travellers make their way to Sydney or Melbourne before they endeavour to arrive at their international destination. As the Nation’s Capital, we are constantly working to progress and move alongside Australia’s major cities. The Canberra Airport have worked incredibly hard to create the opportunity for faster and more direct travel. By removing an additional stopping point for travellers, it means passengers can limit their time spent in transit and arrive at their destination faster. The positive response from the public so far has proven there is a definite interest for international travel to and from Canberra.
In addition to the success of the International terminal, Canberra Airport has been able to provide an influx of job opportunities which is expected to grow even more as they progress as an international airport.
