Creative types should plan a trip to Canberra this month for the fourth annual DESIGN Canberra Festival.
Running from 6 -26 November, the festival celebrates and promotes Canberra as a global city of design and is set to attract thousands of artists, designers, craftsmen, students, enthusiasts and the like.
There’s no denying, design is in Canberra’s DNA. From the time of Walter and Marion Griffin’s visionary design a century ago, to iconic experimental modernist architecture of the 1950’s and 1960’s, through to contemporary and sustainable design developments today, Canberra has been – and will always be – a living design laboratory.
Throughout the month, the city will form the creative backdrop for over 100 events, including exhibitions, talks, guided tours, activations, markets, collaborations, open artist studios and open homes. The festival is for all interests and ages, and most events are free. For a full event calendar, head to designcanberrafestival.com.au
